PIY is headed by our membership which convenes once a year at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and is our supreme governing body. Under the AGM is the Board of Directors which is also selected from the AGM.
The Board of Directors (BOD) is the main decision-making body of the organisation and is charged with providing consistent oversight, strategic direction and leadership to PIY. The BOD is currently made up of five (5) reputable members who have a wealth of knowledge and experience in various fields such as public health, finance, social work, law, media, ICT and human rights activism.
The Secretariat (SEC) is the third arm of PIY which runs the day-to-day activities of the organisation. Our Secretariat is headed by the Executive Director and is supervised by the board of Directors who approve all the activities and operations of PIY. Since inception to date, the Secretariat consists of nine (9) staff members namely; Executive Director, Deputy Executive Director, Director Programmes, Director Finance and Administration, Manager Monitoring and Evaluation, Manager Communications, Administration Officer Community Coordinator and Peer Coordinator. This team works closely with a number of Peer leaders, Community health educators, paralegals, counselors and health workers to reach the communities we serve with various services.
